Do you go through cocktail phases? For a while, I was really obsessed with any cocktails made with sparkling wine—like this white sangria. Then it was my orange whiskey sour. And now, well, it’s margaritas baby. I can’t stop making them. Like, I have to really force myself to only mixing up this margarita recipe on the weekend.
After posting my orange whiskey sour on the blog, I very quickly learned something: ya’ll like to drink! That cocktail recipe is probably one of my most popular on the blog right now, and since posting it I’ve had numerous people reach out to me about making more simple cocktail recipes. One person even asked for a spring cocktail that would be great for Easter, so I figured I would make one of my favorites: heavenly lemonade!
My in-laws are in town for the long weekend, and I wanted to make my mother-in-law a margarita. The two of us bond over margaritas, and particularly love to make these strawberry margaritas in the summertime. As I proceeded to pull out the different ingredients needed, I realized a devastating fate. We didn’t have limes, which are kind of essential in a margarita. So naturally, I whipped up an orange whiskey sour recipe instead.
There’s nothing like a good ol’ frozen drink when you’re hanging out by the water, am I right? I just spent the most relaxing week with my in-laws up in Minnesota. This is my third year heading up to the cabin at Ten Mile Lake, and it has become one of my favorite summer traditions. With a fridge stocked with strawberries, making frozen strawberry margaritas was a must!
