Adults at a summer farmer’s market probably feel the same as kids do at a playground. Elated. Energetic. Maybe a little overwhelmed as to where to start first. All of that colorful produce makes me swoon with all the possibilities that come with it—especially when it comes to big, fat, fresh summer salad recipes.
I know there’s a scientific reason behind why humans tend to crave fresh everything in the summertime—I’ll probably dive into this in another post sometime. And how can you not? Looking at all of that fresh produce can make anyone’s tastebuds sing, especially when it comes to tossing together the perfect summer salad for lunch, or even as a side dish for a BBQ.
And so, to keep your tastebuds satisfied, here are some of my favorite summer salad recipes I love to whip up as the weather gets warming.

Honey Sweet Potato Summer Salad
Blueberries in a salad just scream summer, you know? This salad uses all kinds of fresh produce including sweet potatoes and leafy greens.

Roasted Chickpea Greek Salad
While I’m not usually one to turn on the oven during the summertime (it’s way too hot for that), I would sacrifice a few sweltering minutes for this roasted chickpea Greek salad. It’s fresh and crunchy and creamy and includes all of the right elements for the perfect salad.

Easy Summer Caprese Salad
It’s not summer with a little fresh Caprese situation! This is one of my family’s go-to summer salad recipes because it uses up fresh tomatoes and basil from the garden.

Greek Pasta Salad Recipe
More of a pasta salad person? I don’t blame you—especially when you need a crowd-pleasing side for the summer BBQ! This salad uses a homemade Greek dressing that would be great for any other green salad as well.

Buffalo Chickpea Salad
For a different take on the roasted chickpea salad, this “buffalo” style salad is spicy and creamy and yes, includes bacon. You’re welcome.

Lemon Arugula Salad
For a simple lunch, this lemon arugula salad uses only five ingredients and is going to absolutely be one of your favorite summer salad recipes to turn to throughout the week.

Chicken Salad Lettuce Wraps
Whether wrapped up in lettuce or smooshed together on a sandwich, this chicken salad works well for pretty much any quick lunch occasion—including picnics in the park!
