New York is certainly waking up—and all of the clothes I bought during the pandemic are ecstatic. I have the urge to dress up and go out every single day, which seems a bit pointless when I have nowhere to go…but I will soon. My summer plans are filling up quickly and I am 100% not mad about it.
Here’s a little update on what I’ve been up to this week.
What I’m doing
Getting outside. The weather has been immaculate this week (70’s and 80’s!!) and I have spent a lot of lunch breaks laying out in the courtyard of our apartment building getting some rays. I’ve also been trying to get out into Brooklyn a bit more. I’ve been feeling a lot more comfortable now that a good amount of people are vaccinated. Last weekend I did a fitness class in the park, went to the farmer’s market, and went out to dinner with a friend at Cafe Paulette after taking photos together at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Hence the new glam photo of myself.
Honestly, I’ve also been thinking a lot about how much my life has changed because of the pandemic. Some days it feels really overwhelming and sad. Some days it feels exciting—like I’m on the brink of the next big chapter of my life.
What I’m reading
Reading…and watching. It’s honestly been a lot of celebrity content this week.
Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil (YouTube) This week I did a deep dive into Demi Lovato’s documentary and their new album. It’s really powerful stuff, and I highly recommend giving it a watch. Even if it’s to learn about the realities of the opioid epidemic this country is facing right now.
Say What You Want About Olivia Rodrigo (Nylon) I am pumped for Olivia Rodrigo’s new album to come out today. I am obsessed with her song “good 4 u” and I can’t wait to see what else she made for the rest of the world. Also it kind of blows my mind that she comes from Disney? She’s like a breath of fresh air compared to the usual Disney stardom. I love it.
Kendall Jenner Gets Real About How Social Media Has Affected Her Anxiety (Vogue) Same Kendall, same. Another great celeb interview talking about mental health and how social media has played such a huge part in the health of so many. It motivated me to post this update on my Instgram.
What I’m cooking
Spicy Honey Mustard Pretzel Chicken Fingers (Half Baked Harvest) I do love. a good crispy fried chicken, but I’ve never been able to find a baked breaded chicken that I’ve loved. This one is it, people!!
Gnocchi with Mushrooms and Blue Cheese (Family Style Food) I was in need of a recipe that would use up leftover gnocchis and mushrooms, and this popped up on my Pinterest! But I sort of skipped the blue cheese and added chicken instead…don’t kill me!
Love to you all!
