If you’re new here, hi! I’m so happy you’ve decided to join my little corner of the Internet. Here’s what to expect: Typically I’ll have two or three new posts go up each week, and then starting this Saturday (tomorrow!!!) I’ll be reinstating my bi-weekly specialty newsletter. You’ll get all of my latest published articles and other fun little tidbits.
“On My Plate” is a series for this blog where I share my favorite reads and eats from the week, to inspire you to get educated and get cooking over the weekend. I admit…these posts are a bit sporadic right now, I’m still trying to figure out my flow. But you guys really seem to love these, so here ya go!
What I’m doing.
A lot of outdoor hangs. Even if it’s just by myself hanging in the park as I eat white cheddar popcorn and read my book. I’ve also gotten into the habit of taking my beach chair down to our courtyard on warmer days to either read or work on some writing. Really just loving the warmer weather.
This weekend I’m off to New Jersey for a family wedding, which I’ve been looking forward to for a while. It’s a small gathering, and we’ll be dining at one of the finest steak houses in the state. Does that sound bougie or what?
What I’m reading.
Your recycling is not always being recycled—here’s why (PBS News Hour) Hot dang. We all think we’re so good at recycling…when we just plain aren’t. This is worth a watch.
Progress Over Perfection is a new site that went live this week by one of my colleagues. It’s a site dedicated to properly educating others with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and how to cope through what to buy, eat, know, practice, and read. Plus, the site design is so beautiful!
The Case for a National One-Week Vacation (The New York Times) Think we could actually do it? Stock up and prep for an entire week off across the country? It sounds like a beautiful thing…but I’m thinking maybe we do this in shifts! Ha.
What I’m cooking.
Chinese “Hamburgers” ROU JIA MO 肉夹馍 (The Woks of Life) I am so obsessed with this website right now. I’ve been diving more into cooking Chinese and Korean cuisine at home, and these recipes get me all inspired—and hungry!
Chicken Vesuvio (The Original Dish) Crispy chicken and potatoes? I’m in. This looks so easy…thinking I’m going to have to try it soon.
Spring Jalapeño Herb Sauce (Hello Adams Family) I feel like I just need a jar of this in my fridge at all times. Thinking this sauce would go swimmingly with that Chicken Vesuvio…
Have a lovely weekend, all!
