You know how everyone has their holidays that they love? Some people are super into Halloween, or Christmas, or even the Fourth of July. But for me and my family, we geek out about Thanksgiving. A holiday dedicated to coming together, eating food all day, and celebrating all that we are thankful for…while we drink wine? Yeah. It’s got all the right ingredients for the perfect day.
Typically every other year we look forward to having my entire family in my childhood home—about 40 of us in total. We feast all day, play football, and cozy up on the couch and fall into the best food comas of our lives. My parents and I will literally start planning for it months beforehand.
This year was supposed to be our year…but we all know how that played out…
(No) thanks to COVID, we had to change our plans. Through tears, we canceled our Thanksgiving together with the whole family and decided on doing something smaller together just us. And it didn’t take my parents long to request they come to Brooklyn and have me cook this year.
So…after years of wanting to cook my own Thanksgiving dinner, I finally have been assigned the task. And, as I’m sure you can imagine, I’m going all out.
I started planning out my Thanksgiving menu in August (I know, I’m crazy), and since then, I’ve refined it a bit to make it absolutely perfect. I figured it would be fun to share my menu with all of you. Maybe it will give you some inspiration for your own Thanksgiving menu, or even some ideas on what to bring if you’re attending someone elses this year.
