Turkey, green bean casserole, and mashed potatoes with gravy really steal the show on Thanksgiving, don’t they? It’s those classic dishes that everyone looks forward to every year, and unless you want to take an eclectic approach to Thanksgiving, you pretty much always know what to expect when sitting down at the table for a Thanksgiving feast year-after-year. Which is why you really need to go all out for those courses before dinner kicks off. So let’s get your day started with a list of easy appetizers!
As you already know, my family and I love to plan out all the food for Thanksgiving well in advance, and given that this is my first year to ever host and cook Thanksgiving dinner, I’m going all out. Did I already have my menu planned in August? Why yes. Yes, I did.
The nice thing about serving appetizers is that they don’t have to be so Thanksgiving-like. You can really serve whatever you want before your meal, because hey, it’s your Thanksgiving and you should feast on your favorite foods with your favorite people, right? That’s why my list of easy appetizers has all kinds of foods you can turn to.
What will I be serving from the list? My menu says we’ll be enjoying baked brie with a large plate of charcuterie. Which will be followed by a soup course where I’ll be serving butternut squash soup and delicata squash salad. With focaccia bread, of course.
Okay enough blabbing. Here are some easy appetizers to serve at Thanksgiving, during the holidays, or just a random happy hour at home!
