Alright. I don’t have a big blot post for you today. Why? Because I got massively distracted by this documentary last night that was blowing my mind. It’s called Fed Up, produced by Katie Couric and Laurie David in 2014, that specifically focuses on the epidemic of child obesity.
I mean, as someone who works as a food and health editor, I’m already aware of some of the facts and science reported in this documentary. But to actually watch children struggle with obesity…to hear about the ways that our corrupt system favors the food industry over helping children that are sick and dying…it felt like too much.
The ultimate goal of this? To get people talking. To make changes in the home. To encourage people to eat real food. To realize that we are being tricked into thinking the “healthy” fat-free foods on the shelf will help when they’re actually loaded with added sugars.
I don’t really have any more to say right now—I may come back later with some thoughts and action points. But for now, you can watch the documentary on Amazon. And if you do, let me know in the comments below what you thought. I would love to hear what you have to say!
